Wayworn has been designed from the ground up to be fun and easy to play. Players should be encouraged to explore all their options, think creatively and try and get out alive. The system is also designed to work with any and all OSR (old school renaissance) style adventures and resources, with comparable values and concepts that are easy to convert.
Building characters is quick and everything is universal, allowing players the freedom to create their own characters without worrying that their choices aren't possible. The game only used 2 dice, a D6 and D8, both rolled together for most of the Tests that players will have to make. Simplified rules allow for quicker gameplay and allows players to explore the dungeons faster without losing any of the fun. The game of Wayworn is best suited to adventurers who want to delve deep into the dungeons and tombs of the world. The treasure seekers looking to uncover long forgotten loot. And the explorers looking to discover knew and mysterious lands. All in the name of making your fortune. After all you aren't out to save the world, you are a simple and dastardly Vagabond, trying to get by in this cruel world.
Most of the mechanics can easily be taken and modified by the Guide or the Players. Want to make a new spell, then write one up. Find a cool magical item, make it happen. Want to create a new profession to help resemble the setting your playing in, then you can do that. Your only limit is your imagination.
I am always happy to see other peoples content for the game. If you do make something that is meant to be compatible then please send it to me to look at.
You may use Wayworn as the basis for your own games, adventures and Materials. I only ask that anything created using this material credits me as part of the inspiration. The exception is the art, which cannot be used for any reason without permission.
