At DoW, our community is our favourite and most important piece of the puzzle. Dedicating spaces to those amazing elements of the community is what's us happy and proud of what we do. On this page, you'll find out about all of our amazing community games that have been published through DoW!
Indie Wargaming CTC is a collectable trading card system built by us for the community! Even though we at DoW have come up with the idea and executed it, everything about this project is very much in the hands of the community. We wanted to create a way of bringing everyone in the wargaming community (no matter how you relate to it) together in one friendly way via the sharing of art in awesome card form! Indie Wargaming CTC is a rough and simple framework that allows the community to express itself in whatever way it chooses and share that with the world!
How DO I get involved?
Being open to everyone and free for all, we wanted to make it as easy and accessible as possible to get involved! We've created a spreadsheet that anyone can access, put down their name and get a card number in the current series. The Card Name, Card Number, and Card Series, as well as a series based Card Backing are our minimum recommended content for the cards to make all cards fit into the project. However, the goal is to bring people together through art and creativity. If that looks like making cards out of cut up cereal boxes, as long as you put them on the sheet, they're official cards!
We're so excited to see what people come up with for this idea. We'd love to get as many series as possible out of it. With that in mind, we've come up with a few ideas to make IWCTC as cool as it can be. First up is card rarity! With the card list we've given a place for people to specify how many cards they've made. The spreadsheet totals that all up and calculates a rarity based on how many of your card there is! We also want to make different backings and themes for each series. Starting off with series 1, we have the open series with an orange card backing! Each series is 150 cards, the first 150 card designs will be placed into that series and a new one will be created. New series will have new themes and a new backing to go with it! Although, feel free to edit or change the backing however you want to fit the theme best! Finally, we want there to be special occasions and reasons for getting cards too. For that, we actively encourage people to make cards for their events, new models, new games, life events, anything! Having a cool reason or place to get a card makes each one all the more special, and more fun to trade and collect!
